The curing process is necessary to cross-link and bond the glue with the two secured surfaces as it crystallises and hardens to achieve its final strength.

July 7, 2017 New superglue allows for bonding stretchable hydrogels – A team of researchers at Johannes Kepler University Linz has developed a new type of glue that can be used to bond hydrogels to other hard or soft objects. In their paper published on the open-access site Science Advances, the group explains their development process, the structure of the glue, how it works and in what ways.
June 18, 2019 Reversible superglue proves strong enough to hold average man – A reversible superglue that mimics the under-appreciated properties of dried snail mucus has proved strong enough to bear the weight of an average man. Scientists who tested the slime-inspired product found that two sticky squares the size of postage stamps were sufficient to hold an 87kg (192lb) weight in the form of a volunteer engineering student.

Nov 28, 2011 London fights air pollution with glue – London is applying a calcium-based adhesive to streets to trap particulate air pollution and, believe it or not, it's working. The city's street sweepers have applied the adhesive to air pollution hot spots around the city and particulate levels in those areas have dropped 14 percent. The project has cost the city $1.4 million so far, which is pretty expensive, but 14 percent is a pretty substantial reduction from glue alone and a far cry from a payout of $450 million if they didn't meet the standards.

Nov 2, 2008 Man is found glued to toilet seat – from the classy BBC no less. A man had to be taken to hospital still attached to a steel toilet after super-glue was deliberately smeared on the seat. Firefighters were unable to free the man and were forced to remove the entire toilet with the man attached.
Mar 14, 2007 Police rescue 91-year-old man glued to roof – A 91-year-old German sparked a rescue operation when he slipped mending his roof and got stuck fast in tar "like a beetle on its back," police said on Tuesday.
