Glue of the Month

Quick Grab

For all of our users who have recommended Quick Grab adhesive for glue of the month, you will be pleased to know that we have finally checked it out and we were impressed. This is a silicone free adhesive that contains acetone rather than the more toxic solvents in the other glues of its ilk. The pay off unfortunately is that this adhesive is a lot more flammable. And remember it is still somewhat toxic, so read the label and follow the safety recommendations. But with proper care this glue has a lot of uses around the house. It works well on ceramics, leather and rubber, metal and even glass. It does not leave a greasy residue on an average weight paper, and it is water proof and paintable. It even works on some tricky plastics. We were especially impressed with its performance on ceramic, providing a very strong bond. It dries clear, and sets up in about one hour, reaching full strength in twenty-four hours. We liked the funky label on this glue and enjoyed their informative easy to use web site. Quick Grab is available at most department stores and craft stores in North America.

Update (Nov 6, 2003): We received word that Quick Grab is no longer manufactured -- bummer. But it will probably be available in stores for a while. The company recommends their Omni-Stick as a replacement. But we haven't tried it yet.
